THE FUTURIST | USAHAWAN NUSANTARA PORTFOLIO
Allow me to introduce ourselves. The Futurist Foundation was established in November 2010 at the Law Division (BHEU) in the Prime Minister’s Department of Malaysia as a Trust Fund to focus on a ‘Futurology’ study on Enhancing and Implementing the Entrepreneurial Synergy & Business Ecosystem in the Nusantara Region namely, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, and Brunei.
In 2013, we launched the “Usahawan Nusantara” Flagship, a Futurist Entrepreneurial Movement in Malaysia and Indonesia (through our Yayasan Futurist Indonesia) to encourage Entrepreneurs to collaborate and not to work in a SILO Mind-set, but to explore global partnerships, beginning with synergizing their networking and businesses.
Therefore through our extensive applied research on Best Business Practices in Indonesia with various partners, we have obtained many acknowledgments from the ecosystem in the Nusantara region. We published, the ‘Usahawan Nusantara’ Magazine to feature many successful Entrepreneurs especially the Young and the Women Entrepreneurs in the Nusantara region as well as sharing the foundation’s initiatives and highlights.
We then set up two business entities; Usahawan Nusantara Ventures Sdn Bhd in 2018 and PT. Futuris Ventura Nusantara in 2019 for the way forward to provide Futurist Advisory for the Entrepreneurs to revisit on their future strategies. We also provide other business services such as Publication, General Trading and MICE for the ecosystem in the Nusantara region to go global.

What is a Futurist?
A futurist is a kind of social scientist who advises brands about the potential shape of the future. This may include trends, likely opportunities, and changes coming down the pike. The purpose is to help companies prepare to take advantage of the potential opportunities and avoid possible threats.
There’s no superpower or psychic ability involved. Instead, forecasts are based on specific, drilled-down research and data to illuminate what’s coming. It could be technological developments, for example, or environmental or legal shifts that can impact business plans – or disrupt them entirely.
Futurists aren’t psychics. They don’t simply predict the future. Rather, they try to sketch out a variety of likely outcomes and developments, while also acknowledging the possible outlier events that can throw a curveball into your path and disrupt the most thorough preparations.
